YEATS, William Butler (1865-1935). Poet. Autograph Letter Signed to his cousin Grace Butler Yeats, 1 page 8vo with envelope, 82 Merrion Square, Dublin, 7 October no year (postmark 1925). Arranging to meet her to discuss family ties ('I remember your father [Edwin Butler Yeats] well & his father Matt Yeats - that old life is all very vivid to me'). Together with a copy of another letter, reporting that the herald's office is at work on their ancestry and recalling family history: '... My sister remembers the Earl of Arran refusing to take a mortgage on my father's land because, or so the solicitor reported "I never took a mortgage on any man's estate & certainly I shall not do so on that of a relations."
