GEORGE III (1738-1820). King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. Partial document with fine bold signature ('George R') in ink at the head, 11 May 1795. Countersigned by the duke of Portland, home secretary (and later prime minister). The document dismemebered and trimmed overall with some loss of text. It is a licence to plead granted to (Sir) Vicary Gibbs in the case of John Newbull Hepburn, accused of libelling Charles Bonner. [No: 25322]
