Attractive letter to Mr ?Hogwith, 1 page 8vo on black-edged paper (lightly tipped by the second leaf to a mount), no place, no date. Informing him that his mother had asked him to take her out for a drive, and deferring his visit.
'I had no idea of any hindrance coming to-day but the morning is so beautiful that my mother has asked me to taek her out for a drive, and though I should still be here at 12, I should not have time to show you things. Come to lunch to-morrow - or Monday? if you can.'
