'Be it known to all that we William Hendesalagh of Snaith ('Snayth') and Matilda my wife have remitted, relaxed and in all manner from ourselves and our heirs have quitclaimed John Smalwod of Cowick ('Cowkye') and Isabella his wife, their heirs and executors, in all manner of actions real and personal whatsoever touching our persons concerning transgression of debt, from the beginning of the world to the day of making these presents. In witness whereof our seals have been appended. Dated at Snaith on Sunday next before the feast of the apostles Peter and Paul in year of the Lord 1367.'
