Sending him a letter (no longer enclosed) which he wishes him to read out publicly to Captain Clerck and his officers and men, and requesting that he see Mr Stone for his opinions on the Act concerning Register Ships.

'Enclosed I send you a Copy of what I desire you will read on the Publick Qua[r]ter Deck ... to the Captain Officers and Ships Company, leaving a Copy with the Captain and another with the Officers - when you have read it I must desire you will ask publickly if the Captain Officers or Ships Company have any objection, with their reasons, if any ... .'
