EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). German-born theoretical physicist. Typewritten Letter Signed, in German, to Jacob Barr, 1 page 4to, 112 Mercer Street, Princeton (blind-stamp at the head), 10 December 1938. Baar is addressed at the Statistical Bureau of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company in New York, and letter apparently effects an introduction: 'I have been happy to receive your message. Mr Stegmann is a very brilliant artist, and also an unusually sympathetic man. He will certainly only make you pleased when he arrives here.' [translation]. [No: 20374]
