ROLLAND, Romain (1866-1944). French writer
Postcard-sized photograph signed in the lower white margin and again on the reverse where it is dedicated to 'Mai' Spencer Edge, Villeneuve, 22 August 1937. The photograph is a head-and-shoulders pose showing the writer in stiff white collar and what looks like a tweed blanket over his shoulders.
